The Social Democratic Party (SDP) leadership has solidified its focus on internal restructuring and organizational growth during its second National Executive Committee meeting held in Abuja. National Chairman Prof. Sadiq Gombe highlighted the party’s recent advancements, which include successful national conventions and the establishment of robust structures nationwide.
Gombe emphasized the party’s adherence to legal standards and expressed appreciation for the Independent National Electoral Commission. Addressing internal issues, he confirmed that disciplinary measures were handled properly to maintain party cohesion. The leadership encouraged members to prioritize grassroots outreach as the 2027 election cycle approaches.
Dr. Olu Agunloye, the National Secretary, detailed updates to the party constitution and membership database, noting that future efforts will prioritize training polling agents and fortifying local unit presence. Senator Ugochukwu Uba reaffirmed the party’s dedication to Nigerian welfare and security, while other officials, including Femi Olaniyi and Saadatu Abdullahi, urged for stronger state-level organization and increased female representation in decision-making roles.
