Senator Rufai Hanga resigns from Nigeria Democratic Congress

Senator Rufai Hanga has announced his immediate resignation from the Nigeria Democratic Congress, citing personal reasons for his departure.

Senator Rufai Hanga, the Deputy Minority Whip of the Senate representing Kano Central, has officially exited the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). In a formal resignation notice sent on August 3 to the party’s ward chairman in Najeria, Nasarawa LGA of Kano State, Hanga stated his departure is immediate.

Previously, Hanga had transitioned to the NDC alongside his political mentor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, moving from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP). Hanga explained that his choice to resign stemmed from deep personal consideration and a desire to focus on alternative career interests.

In his letter, the Senator expressed appreciation to the Dakata Ward leadership and the party membership for their guidance and collaboration throughout his tenure. He requested that the party strike his name from their official records and return his membership documentation. Hanga concluded his message by offering best wishes for the party’s future activities.
