Senator Ningi Calls for Public Display and Prosecution of Oyo Kidnap Suspects

Senator Abdul Ningi is demanding the public parade and swift trial of suspects linked to the kidnapping of students and teachers in Oyo State to ensure justice and restore public trust.

Senator Abdul Ningi, representing Bauchi Central, has formally requested that the Federal Government and law enforcement immediately parade and prosecute individuals captured in connection with the abduction of teachers and pupils in Oyo State.

During a Wednesday session of the Senate, Ningi emphasized that holding the perpetrators accountable is essential to deter future criminal activity. He insisted that the suspects must be publicly identified and brought to justice to ensure the legal system remains credible. According to the senator, any hesitation in the judicial process risks damaging public confidence in the authorities.

The incident involved gunmen who seized victims from Baptist Nursery and Primary School, LA Primary School, and Community Grammar School, all located within the Oriire Local Government Area. After enduring 56 days as captives, the victims were successfully liberated last Friday during a collaborative rescue mission conducted by security forces.
