Ogazi dominated the event, outpacing Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards, who took silver with a time of 44.82 seconds. The bronze medal was awarded to South Africa’s Zakithi Nene, who finished in 45.21 seconds. Meanwhile, Edidiong Okon Udo, the second Nigerian athlete to reach the final, placed eighth with a time of 45.81 seconds.
In the women’s category, Ella Onojuvwevwo earned a bronze medal for Nigeria. She crossed the finish line in 51.00 seconds, falling short of the silver medal by a mere 0.01 seconds. The event was won by Jamaica’s Dejanea Oakley with a time of 50.21 seconds, followed by Barbados athlete Sada Williams, who secured silver at 50.99 seconds.
