The Russian Ministry of Defence claimed the operation targeted military-industrial sites and logistics centers. Conversely, Ukrainian officials emphasized the critical need for expanded air defense capabilities to counter the escalation of long-range strikes. Amid the ongoing conflict, Ukraine has intensified its own drone operations against Russian territory, including strikes on a Wildberries logistics facility in Volgograd.
Diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with President Volodymyr Zelensky discussing the potential for domestic production of Patriot missiles with US President Donald Trump. While the meeting produced some optimism, the US administration remains cautious regarding such technological licensing. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha reiterated that the outcome of the war depends heavily on the ability to secure Ukraine’s airspace through improved defense systems.
