Rufai Oseni Calls for Disclosure of Coastal Road Environmental Assessment Amid Lagos Flooding

Arise TV anchor Rufai Oseni has challenged federal and state authorities to release the Environmental Impact Assessment report for the Lagos coastal road project following recent flooding.

Arise Television host Rufai Oseni has called upon the Lagos State Ministry of Environment, alongside relevant federal ministries, to disclose documentation regarding the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the ongoing coastal road project. This demand follows recent severe flooding incidents across the state.

During Wednesday’s broadcast of The Morning Show, Oseni insisted that officials must release all internal reports, correspondences, and records that detail how the EIA was managed and how the project addresses potential flood risks. He stressed that a project of this magnitude necessitates collaboration between state and federal authorities.

Oseni explicitly challenged these government bodies to produce evidence of their negotiations and the specific findings of the environmental studies. He requested that the authorities explain the projected impact of the road construction on local flood management and specify what mitigation measures were established prior to the project’s commencement.
