Primate Elijah Ayodele, head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu faces certain defeat in the 2027 presidential contest. He cautioned that attempts to sway voters through financial incentives and food supplies will prove ineffective.
Speaking to his congregation in Lagos, the prophet expressed support for recent sentiments shared by Cardinal John Onaiyekan, the Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Abuja. He emphasized that the nation is currently grappling with widespread hunger and frustration.
Ayodele defended the Cardinal, noting that he spoke an uncomfortable truth that many other religious leaders have avoided. He urged the administration to address the prevailing national unrest, warning that the public would express their dissatisfaction at the polls regardless of attempts to influence them with material gifts. The prophet concluded that following the advice of sycophants will lead the president toward political failure.
