The Nigerian Presidency has accused Prince Adeniyi Mathew of utilizing public concerns regarding corruption to unjustly implicate Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, as a defensive tactic against his own alleged criminal activities.
Temitope Ajayi, a Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, shared this stance on his verified X account this past Friday. Ajayi characterized Adeniyi as a manipulative fraudster attempting to evade legal consequences by weaponizing anti-corruption sentiment.
Authorities, including the Department of State Services, the Police, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, are currently investigating how Adeniyi successfully forged presidential appointment documents. Ajayi emphasized that this fraud could not have occurred without the assistance of internal accomplices.
Ajayi stated that it is imperative for security agencies to identify and dismantle the criminal networks operating within these government bodies. He demanded that all individuals involved in the forgery operation face arrest and legal prosecution.
