The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially transferred 50,000 new constables to the Nigeria Police Force to begin their training. This event took place this Wednesday at the Commission’s Abuja office, concluding the recruitment stage and initiating training preparations.
PSC representative Torty Njoku stated that the action follows orders from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and adheres to legal requirements. Representing the PSC Chairman, Commissioner Paul Adamu Galumje formally passed the recruits to the police force for placement in various training colleges. The commission also provided the list of successful applicants via a digital drive.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Isyaku Mohammed accepted the recruits on behalf of the Inspector-General, praising the open nature of the hiring process. He noted that training across the country will start once the necessary budget is provided. Ibrahim A. Muhammad, from the Ministry of Police Affairs, also praised the transparency of the recruitment. PSC Secretary Onyemuche Nnamani credited the success to the cooperative efforts of all parties involved.
