Pogacar Secures Another Stage Win to Extend Tour de France Lead

Tadej Pogacar claimed his fourth stage victory at the Tour de France on the climb to Le Markstein, moving 4 minutes and 30 seconds clear of nearest rival Jonas Vingegaard.

Tadej Pogacar has significantly strengthened his hold on the yellow jersey following a commanding performance on the 155-kilometer fourteenth stage of the Tour de France. Competing through the Voges mountains, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG cyclist crossed the finish line ahead of his peers, marking his fourth stage victory of this year’s event.

Isaac del Toro secured second place, finishing 38 seconds behind his teammate, while teenage talent Paul Seixas claimed third. Jonas Vingegaard, Pogacar’s primary challenger, finished fourth, losing an additional 44 seconds to the leader. The Danish rider now faces a 4 minute and 30 second deficit in the overall standings.

The race featured intense action on the ascent toward Le Markstein, where vast crowds of supporters gathered. Although Vingegaard attempted to match Pogacar’s pace after an attack occurred eight kilometers from the end, he was ultimately unable to maintain contact with the Slovenian’s superior power. Pogacar, now 27, continues his pursuit of a record-equalling fifth Tour de France title. Meanwhile, Remco Evenepoel holds third place in the general classification, and Mads Pedersen remains the leader in the points competition.
