The Plateau State Police Command has taken 19-year-old Abba Ahmed into custody for his alleged involvement in an armed robbery. The incident took place at the New Legislative Quarters in Jos on July 6, 2026, around 9:20 p.m.
SP Alfred Alabo, the police spokesperson, stated that an unidentified attacker shot the victim in the back before making off with his Jincheng motorcycle. Responding to a distress call, officers from the Nasarawa Gwom Police Division transported the wounded individual to Bingham University Teaching Hospital for urgent treatment.
Detectives utilized intelligence to track down Ahmed, who resides in Filin Sukuwa, eventually capturing him in Lere. Authorities successfully recovered the stolen motorcycle during the arrest. The suspect is currently held at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Jos, as officials work to locate the weapon used in the assault and identify any potential accomplices.
DCP Usman Sheikh Adamu, the acting Commissioner of Police, reaffirmed the department’s dedication to public safety. He encouraged local citizens to stay alert and notify law enforcement of any unusual behavior.
