PFIPC Leader Expresses Distrust in ICPC Probe of Femi Gbajabiamila

Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi of the PFIPC has questioned the impartiality of the ICPC investigation into Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, calling for an independent inquiry instead.

Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), recently voiced his skepticism regarding the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) investigation. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Adeniyi asserted that the commission is unlikely to indict Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu.

Adeniyi argued that the current situation requires an independent panel to ensure a fair outcome, stating that government agencies cannot effectively investigate themselves. He acknowledged the President’s decision to form a panel but insisted that a fully independent body is necessary, especially since the Presidency has already publicly defended Gbajabiamila. The PFIPC director is scheduled to appear at the Federal High Court in Abuja this Tuesday.
