The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has reiterated its stance against same-faith political tickets, arguing that Nigeria’s leadership must mirror its ethnic and religious variety. This position was formally declared in a statement released following a July 23, 2026, National Executive Council meeting, which was endorsed by national spokesperson Dr. Sylvanus Ukafia.
Beyond electoral concerns, the organization spoke out against any legislative attempts to limit Christian evangelism, labeling such efforts a violation of constitutional rights. The PFN emphasized that representative governance is essential to building national cohesion and fostering trust among the populace.
Addressing its members, the fellowship encouraged the Christian community to maintain a peaceful, law-abiding presence while actively participating in the democratic process. It also challenged government authorities to strictly adhere to constitutional mandates, ensuring that no policies marginalize any specific faith.
To safeguard national stability, the group called for ongoing cooperation between civil society, religious leaders, and political stakeholders. The PFN concluded by stating its intent to continue advocating for justice and equality, aiming to foster a nation where the rule of law protects every individual regardless of their background.
