Defense Minister Christopher Musa Reports Significant Decline in Nigerian Terrorism

Defence Minister Christopher Musa claims terrorism in Nigeria has dropped significantly, rating current security performance between 65 and 70 percent.

Christopher Musa, the Minister of Defence, reports that terrorist activities have significantly decreased throughout Nigeria. He estimates that current national security operations are performing at a 65 to 70 percent success rate. Speaking during a recent interview on Arise Television, Musa acknowledged that while crime persists, the national situation is much improved compared to prior periods.

Musa linked many ongoing security issues to a decline in traditional family values and societal orientation. He noted that individuals engaging in kidnapping and similar criminal acts are frequently motivated by a desire for easy wealth rather than productive labor. Furthermore, the Minister suggested that certain criminal acts may be politically driven, designed to undermine the government and create the perception that the country is difficult to govern.

Despite these complex challenges, the Minister confirmed that the armed forces and other security services are committed to restoring order. He emphasized that cooperation from the public has improved significantly, allowing security agencies to make greater progress in their operations.
