PDP Faction Denies Wike’s Departure to APC

A faction of the PDP loyal to Nyesom Wike has officially denied reports that the FCT Minister is leaving the party for the APC, labeling him a crucial asset.

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporting Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has officially denied rumors regarding his potential switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Jungudo Mohammed, the group’s National Publicity Secretary, clarified on Wednesday that Wike remains a key figure within their ranks.

This statement was issued in response to remarks from APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, who publicly admired Wike’s leadership style and expressed regret that the minister is not currently affiliated with the ruling party. According to the PDP faction, this praise highlights the caliber of leadership found within the opposition.

The statement emphasized that Wike is a vital contributor to the PDP and there is no plan to see him exit, despite various political enticements. Although Wike serves as a minister under the APC-led administration, he maintains his official membership with the PDP.
