Pastor Giwa Slams ‘Men of God’ Selling Anointing Oil and Miracle Water as Herbalists
The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has strongly criticized men of God who sell anointed oil and water to their congregants.
Pastor Giwa stated that any man of God who sells anointing oil and water is essentially a herbalist.
Speaking to his members at his church in Akure, Ondo State, he emphasized that there is no biblical account of Jesus Christ selling anointing oil or water during His time.
He also pointed out that the Bible does not record Jesus’ disciples or apostles selling handkerchiefs, holy water, or anointing oil in exchange for miracles.
According to Pastor Giwa: “What can the devil give to anybody that he won’t retrieve? I want to categorize ministers of God who are selling anointing oil and water as herbalist (witch doctors).
“Any man of God that sells oil and water with the claim that if you use it, your business will boom, such people are witch doctors.
“Jesus never sold any holy water or anointing oil to anybody. There have been no records of the disciples or apostles selling handkerchief, holy water, anointing oil in exchange for any miracle or healing. Therefore, any pastor selling anointing oil is an herbalist.”
The clergyman also emphasized that spending 24 hours in church does not make someone a true believer.
He maintained that a genuine believer is recognized by their character and the things they say.
“Spending 24 hours in the church does not make you a believer, but what you do is what will distinguish you. Your utterances and what comes out of you is what makes you a believer.
“Character distinguishes believers from others by reflecting Christ’s attributes and values in their lives,” he added.
