Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial nominee for Oyo State, has pledged that the party will effectively address all internal concerns arising from its recent primary election. Representing the Oyo South Senatorial District, Alli spoke to the press on Monday at the Nigeria Union of Journalists secretariat in Ibadan. The briefing included key figures such as deputy nominee Adesoji Adedeji and State APC Chairman Chief Moses Adeyemo.
Eleven candidates participated in the primary, which led to dissatisfaction among some of the hopefuls regarding the final results. Alli emphasized that having numerous qualified and competent contenders naturally leads to some level of friction, noting that the party can only select one representative from a crowded field of talented individuals.
To mend these divisions, the party has established a reconciliation committee tasked with engaging aggrieved members. Alli confirmed he is personally involved in these efforts, including discussions with members of the G6 group, to ensure party unity ahead of the 2027 election cycle. He remains confident in the party’s collective strength and objective to reclaim state leadership.
