Osun Gubernatorial Race: Islamic Leaders Declare Support for APC Candidate Oyebamiji

A coalition of Islamic leaders and imams in Osun State has officially endorsed APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji for the upcoming August 15 governorship election.

With only five days remaining until the Osun State governorship election, various Islamic scholars and imams have officially backed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, for the August 15 contest. The coalition of religious groups met at the residence of Chief Tunde Badmus in Osogbo to announce their decision, citing both the candidate’s professional competence and his history of serving the Muslim community as key factors.

The supporting organizations include the United Imams and Alfas, the Progressive Muslim Teachers, the Qodriyah Islamic Society, and several other local religious bodies. Chief Badmus, the Asiwaju Musulumi of the South-West, explained that the gathering served to align the various groups with the vision of President Bola Tinubu. He noted that the endorsement represents a unified front for the APC ahead of the upcoming election.

During the gathering, over 500 individuals with hearing impairments were present, showcasing their Permanent Voter Cards as a pledge to support Oyebamiji. Representatives such as AbdulGaniy Olaoye emphasized that their support is a gesture of solidarity with the President and a recognition of the candidate’s dedication to Islamic values. They have committed to mobilizing their respective communities to ensure the candidate’s success at the polls.
