The Osun State Police Command has taken 40-year-old Ogunsola Ojo into custody. He faces accusations of conspiring to disturb a grave and possessing a human skull. DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, speaking for Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan, confirmed the arrest on Friday.
The investigation began after a resident reported on June 17, 2026, that his older brother’s grave had been desecrated. Upon checking the family plot on June 15, the man discovered the skull was missing. Following intelligence gathering, officers tracked down Ojo, who then implicated three other individuals: Ayeloja Lateef, aged 40, Azeez Rasheed, aged 50, and Kunle Fatai, who remains a fugitive.
Authorities subsequently searched the area near the home of the suspect still at large, uncovering a human skull hidden in an unfinished structure nearby. This evidence is now part of the ongoing criminal inquiry. The police are continuing their search for Fatai and intend to prosecute the suspects once the investigation is finalized. The department maintains its pledge to uphold justice and public safety.
