Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election, has dismissed allegations linking his campaign to illegal operations. During a media interaction following Friday prayers at the Mallam Tope Central Mosque in Osogbo, Oyebamiji accused political rivals of using vehicles decorated with his campaign branding to commit crimes and damage his reputation.
The candidate described these reports as a calculated smear campaign by desperate opponents who hope to undermine his increasing popularity. He insisted that his political journey and personal conduct have always prioritized integrity and strict adherence to the law. He noted that his campaign strategy focuses on peace, decency, and addressing substantive issues rather than fear or intimidation.
Oyebamiji warned the public and security agencies to stay alert, asserting that these impersonators are using deception to sow discord. He emphasized that his goal is to bring purposeful leadership and accountability to Osun State. During his earlier visit to the mosque, he thanked the congregation for their prayers and support, reiterating his dedication to fostering unity, security, and prosperity for all citizens if elected.
