Authorities in Ondo State successfully detained six people accused of participating in cult activities. Officers from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad executed the arrests on Tuesday morning in Akungba and Iwaro Akoko, located in the Akoko South West area, acting on gathered intelligence.
State police spokesperson Abayomi Jimoh identified the detainees as Kayode Damilare, 30; Godwin Adejoro, 30; Adedapo Ogunro, 36; Chisom Okechukwu, 21; Imisi Ademulegun, 26; and Bukola Odugunle, 21. These individuals were reportedly gathered for a meeting when police arrived.
During the raid, officers seized several items linked to unlawful groups, including five battle axes, a jackknife, and various charms. They also recovered specific attire associated with the cult, such as yellow singlets, boots, and face caps. These items are currently being processed as evidence. Law enforcement officials stated that the suspects will face formal charges once the investigation concludes.
