The Ogoni Diaspora Coalition, based in North America, has formally announced its support for Dr. Gabriel Pidomson, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the 2027 Rivers State gubernatorial election. To bolster their advocacy and mobilization efforts, the group launched a dedicated website, gabrielpidomson.org.
In an August 2026 declaration, coalition leadership, including Chairman Cornelius JS Dumerene, Vice Chairman Chief Anthony Waadah, and Director of Communications Engr. Ledum Nordee, stated that the digital hub will share Pidomson’s policy goals and organize outreach across all 23 Rivers State local government areas. The coalition selected Pidomson based on his tenure as Secretary to the Rivers State Government and his experience in the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Drawing on his expertise as a civil engineer and academic, the group believes Pidomson is well-equipped to tackle infrastructure gaps, economic planning, and public administration. The coalition emphasized that their endorsement is driven by a desire for accountability rather than ethnic bias. They clarified that Pidomson aims to serve the entire state, not just one community, and urged stakeholders across all senatorial districts to evaluate his comprehensive development agenda. The coalition plans to work across the state to address insecurity, unemployment, and environmental issues by promoting a vision of inclusive and sustainable governance.
