The Niger State branch of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has instructed its 2027 general election candidates to center their campaigns on policy issues and inclusive governance. This directive came during the distribution of certificates of return to those who triumphed in the party primaries.
State Chairman Hon. Aliyu Halidu Mohammed advised the nominees to remain faithful to the party’s principles. He emphasized the importance of engaging party executives, loyalists, and stakeholders throughout the campaign period. Mohammed highlighted that maintaining a strong connection with the party’s grassroots structure, including ward and local government leaders, is vital for electoral victory.
Collaboration is essential for fostering unity and improving the party’s standing, according to the Chairman. He called on all party members to stay committed to the shared mission of winning back power in the state, asserting that the PDP’s power is rooted in its discipline and collective focus on leadership.
Senator Zainab Kure, a former First Lady of Niger State and key party stakeholder, praised the candidates for their dedication. She acknowledged the challenges of running against an incumbent administration and encouraged the hopefuls to stay resilient and focused as they head toward the 2027 elections.
The event saw the distribution of certificates to three senatorial hopefuls, six candidates for the House of Representatives, and 24 contenders for the State House of Assembly.
