In a statement on Thursday, NANS President Olushola Oladoja congratulated Piwuna, praising his character, poise, and dedication to university development. Oladoja also highlighted Piwuna’s strong track record in leadership and negotiations as key to his suitability for the role.
“We believe that you are coming to consolidate the agenda of positive change that many before you started, resulting in some of the magnificent results we are seeing, particularly through the representation of our universities by ASUU in strategic activism,” he stated.
The NANS leader emphasised the association’s willingness to collaborate with ASUU on strategic activism and initiatives that promote positive change in universities. He expressed optimism that Piwuna will successfully implement student-focused reforms through strong partnerships and effective negotiations. Oladoja noted that both NANS and ASUU are partners in progress, and Nigerian students eagerly anticipate the positive impact of Piwuna’s tenure. He also commended ASUU leaders and members who supported Piwuna’s vision and ideology during his campaign.
