The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has added an extra year to the service duration of 11 individuals from the 2025 Batch B Stream. This decision follows various violations of service regulations. State Coordinator Ekeng Kubiangha announced the disciplinary measure during the passing-out ceremony, which took place across the state’s 30 local government areas and the area office.
Kubiangha, joined by National Directorate Headquarters official Peter Okpanachi, visited several sites to oversee the conclusion of the service year. He noted that 1,702 participants successfully finished their assignment and received their certificates, while 18 individuals were recorded as having absconded. The extension is mandated by the official NYSC bye-laws.
Addressing the graduates, Kubiangha encouraged them to apply integrity and hard work as they begin their professional careers. He emphasized that the certificate is merely a starting point for their future endeavors. The coordinator also advised the youths to represent the program well by demonstrating honesty and patriotism.
During the event, several Corps Liaison Officers were honored with certificates for their exceptional leadership. Kubiangha concluded by stating he expects the graduates to make significant contributions to the nation in their future pursuits.
