Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk has broken his silence regarding his lengthy anti-doping case, labeling the previous 20 months as the toughest time in his professional life. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has officially cleared the 25-year-old to return to competitive play immediately.
The resolution followed an agreement between Mudryk, the Football Association, and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which saw his previous four-year ban reduced. Reports indicate that Chelsea plans to bring the Ukrainian international back into the team, with the player expected to participate in the upcoming pre-season tour.
Mudryk expressed relief that the ordeal is over, emphasizing that he never intentionally used prohibited substances. He reiterated his dedication to clean sport and thanked his supporters, teammates, and legal representatives for their support during his suspension. He has been sidelined since November 2024 after a positive test for meldonium.
CAS determined that under current technical reporting standards, the minimal levels of the substance found in his system would not have triggered a violation. Consequently, Mudryk has served a suspension equivalent to the time already passed. Chelsea confirmed they are ready to support his return to full fitness and integration back into the first-team squad.
