Soldiers from the 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Force 7 were dispatched to the Tsafe–Yankuzo road in Zamfara State following a reported attack. Acting on intelligence that militants had ambushed a vehicle heading from Tsafe Market to Yankuzo at roughly 11:15 am on June 21, the military mobilized a response team.
As noted by Zagazola Makama via social media, the soldiers arrived at the scene with the intent to engage the militants and restore safety to the corridor. Upon arrival, the attackers had already retreated, preventing a direct confrontation. The team discovered a vehicle that the assailants had set on fire.
In response, the military cordoned off the area and intensified patrol efforts to protect local travelers and deter future incidents. Official sources confirmed that active operations are underway to apprehend the suspects and safeguard primary transit routes throughout the state.
