Soldiers from Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA successfully ambushed a group of Lakurawa terrorists in Kebbi State. The militants were intercepted while traveling toward Dandi Local Government Area to conduct attacks.
Lieutenant Colonel Olayinka Osoba, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated that the military acted on intelligence regarding the group’s movements. Troops established a tactical ambush at a crossing point near Uguwan Hassan village. When the militants arrived, the soldiers utilized superior firepower to overwhelm them, forcing the attackers to flee.
During the operation, the army seized several items, including two motorcycles, mobile phones, T&T communication radios, and a Nigerien identification card linked to a suspect from the Tilbiri Region of Niger Republic. Currently, military forces are conducting aggressive patrols in the area to track the remaining militants and secure the region.
