Former England and Manchester City star Micah Richards has shared his intention to retire from his role as a television pundit within the next eight years. Since his professional football career concluded in 2019, the 38-year-old has become a prominent broadcaster.
Richards is currently a fixture on BBC, Sky Sports, and CBS Sports, gaining widespread recognition for his upbeat approach and interactions with colleagues. Alongside Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer, he also leads The Rest Is Football podcast, which has surged in popularity to the point of securing a reported £14 million deal with Netflix for coverage of the upcoming North American FIFA World Cup.
Despite this success, Richards insists he will exit the industry while still prominent. He informed The Telegraph that he intends to finish his mainstream media career following the 2034 World Cup. He stated that he has informed his employers of this timeline, asserting that he is serious about his eventual departure from networks like the BBC, Sky, and CBS.
