Major General Godwin Mutkut, Commander of the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps, has directed troops under the 27 Task Force Brigade of Operation HADIN KAI to uphold an aggressive and professional stance against Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents. During an evaluation trip to Buni-Gari, Yobe State, the General praised the soldiers for their bravery in protecting the nation despite ongoing hardships.
General Mutkut stressed that continuous tactical pressure is essential to restrict enemy movement. He warned personnel against complacency, urging them to prioritize combat readiness and discipline. Furthermore, he explicitly cautioned against prohibited behaviors such as social media misuse, leaking tactical locations, and drug abuse, which threaten both the Army’s reputation and mission success. The commander pledged that the military hierarchy remains dedicated to improving soldier welfare to ensure effective leadership.
Brigadier General Mukhtar S. Mukhtar, who leads the 27 Task Force Brigade, expressed that the visit served to invigorate the troops. He committed his unit to continuing robust operations to eradicate remaining militant groups within the region.
