The Kano State Hisbah Board has formally cautioned residents to avoid making payments to unauthorized individuals claiming to facilitate registration for the upcoming government-sponsored mass wedding event.
Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, the Deputy Commander-General, issued this notice on Wednesday after discovering that certain people were soliciting funds from applicants under false pretenses. He clarified that the state government, led by Governor Abba Yusuf, has already fully financed the initiative.
The governor’s sponsorship package encompasses all essential requirements, including clothing, household furniture, logistics for furniture transport, and initial capital to help couples start their lives. Aminuddeen emphasized that no staff member or government representative is permitted to charge fees for enrollment.
The board is encouraging citizens to immediately report any demands for payment to the Hisbah office or local law enforcement for investigation. The official message remains clear: the program is entirely free of charge and requires no financial input from the beneficiaries.
