Law enforcement officials in Kano State have taken Fati Cele, a well-known TikTok creator, into custody following the suspicious death of her partner, Isma’il Makaye. The incident occurred at her home in the Danbare district, where she lives. Cele, who originally hails from Borno State, is a prominent figure on TikTok with an audience exceeding 32,000 users.
Reports from a close contact of the deceased suggest that Cele exited her home calling for help, claiming there was a fire. Neighbors arrived to find Makaye suffering from burn wounds and bleeding. He was transported to Nassarawa Hospital in an attempt to provide medical aid, but he did not survive. Police officers from the Dorayi Babba Division later detained the influencer as they launched an inquiry into the event.
Acquaintances noted that the couple had a history of domestic turbulence and had recently rekindled their relationship after a period of separation. Makaye, who worked as a cosmetics merchant in the Hotoro Tishama area, has since been interred at Unguwa Uku Yan Awaki. At the time of this report, the police had not released a formal statement regarding the case.
