The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has publicly denounced the surge of banditry across Zamfara, Sokoto, and Katsina states. National President Hon. Khalil Mohammed Bello issued a statement expressing profound distress over the ongoing violence, which includes kidnappings, mass killings, and the burning of residents. The association labeled these acts as barbaric, emphasizing that such violence against farmers and families undermines national food security.
KACRAN rejected the targeting of non-combatants, stating that such cruelty violates religious and traditional standards. The group urged bandits to abandon violence, engage in dialogue, and release all captives immediately. Furthermore, they warned volunteer groups against profiling pastoralists, noting that blaming all Fulani for the actions of criminals only deepens the cycle of hostility.
To address the crisis, KACRAN called on Northern leaders to prioritize justice and community engagement. They also requested that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu implement the association’s National Peace Roadmap. This proposal includes securing agricultural lands, revitalizing cattle routes, and initiating a disarmament program. Hon. Bello expressed optimism that these measures, if implemented with genuine political commitment, could restore stability to the North-West and North-Central regions within three to four months.
