On Sunday evening, emergency teams were deployed to control a significant fire erupting on Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh. The blaze, which ignited beneath Salisbury Crags around 18:40, generated a massive cloud of white smoke visible from as far away as Fife.
Six fire appliances arrived on-site to suppress the flames. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that there were no injuries. Consequently, Police Scotland has restricted all vehicular traffic on Queens Drive and limited public access to the vicinity for safety.
This incident follows a series of recent wildfires across Scotland, including an extensive fire in the Cairngorms National Park that has persisted for four days. That separate event forced the evacuation of homes, campsites, and a ski resort after six square kilometres of land were impacted.
