A unified security contingent, consisting of Adamawa State Police, 144 Battalion soldiers, and Civilian Joint Task Force members, successfully pushed back an insurgent assault in Garaha Village, Hong Local Government Area. Authorities reported on Wednesday that the rapid reaction of these forces overwhelmed the attackers, compelling them to withdraw toward the Sambisa Forest.
SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state police spokesperson, confirmed that the operation effectively prevented further violence against local communities. During the engagement, security personnel managed to seize a weapon left behind by the retreating militants. CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, the Adamawa State Police Commissioner, praised the courage and coordination displayed by the participating units.
In a separate incident, law enforcement officers recovered a vehicle that had been stolen from a location near the Lamido Aliyu Mustapha International Airport in Yola. The recovery followed a tip from the public, leading to the arrest of 59-year-old Omega Gubo from Rumde Baru Ward. Police officials stated that an investigation is underway and the suspect will soon face legal proceedings.
