During a visit to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Friday, Inspector-General of Police Tunji Disu addressed reports suggesting that individuals sought by law enforcement are finding refuge within the Government House. This interaction occurred against the backdrop of strained relations between Governor Adeleke and the state’s Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan.
Disu questioned the legitimacy of these claims, expressing his bewilderment regarding why suspected criminals would be permitted to stay at the seat of government. Furthermore, the IGP relayed accounts from the Commissioner of Police, who alleged that certain political entities are providing cover for offenders as the state approaches its gubernatorial election. Disu emphasized that he urged the Commissioner to handle such sensitive matters with appropriate professional rigor.
