Governor Uba Sani Pledges Compensation for Property Affected by Demolition

Governor Uba Sani has assured Kaduna residents that no property will be demolished for public projects without fair compensation, noting that his administration has already distributed over N3 billion to affected households.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has committed to ensuring that no resident loses their property to government projects without receiving fair and just compensation. He issued this guarantee while handing out payment checks to 122 families impacted by the 15-kilometer Ring Road construction project stretching from Danbushiya Junction to Danhono 2.

The governor stressed that public projects should not cause undue suffering, asserting that progress requires empathy and fairness. When officials realized the road construction encroached on residential structures, the government opted to pause work to accurately assess the impact. Sani described the compensation payments not as a charitable gesture, but as a moral responsibility to uphold the rights and dignity of displaced citizens.

This initiative is part of a broader commitment by the administration to provide restitution. Since taking office, the government has provided over N3 billion in payments to nearly 800 households across various infrastructure developments, including projects in Rigasa, Mahuta, Zaria, and the Kabala Costain corridor. Sani maintained that his administration remains dedicated to executing projects with transparency, ensuring that development does not come at the cost of the public’s well-being.
