Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has declared a firm stance against the mistreatment of women and children. During a meeting with the Nigerian Governors’ Spouses Forum (NGSF), led by his wife, Hajiya Zulaihat Radda, he emphasized that his administration is dedicated to enforcing protective policies.
Radda stated that the government will not tolerate any form of discrimination or abuse. He promised to work closely with various partners to improve how the state handles prevention and victim support. He praised the forum for its timely efforts in raising public awareness, which he believes is essential for creating safer communities.
Hajiya Zulaihat Radda noted that the advocacy campaign aims to combat the negative impacts of gender-based violence, which she identified as a significant obstacle to social progress. She called for a unified effort from religious leaders, parents, and civil society to stop the violence. She encouraged citizens to abandon the habit of staying silent about abuse and instead report incidents immediately to ensure victims receive necessary help.
The Katsina Ministry of Women Affairs remains active in these efforts, focusing on public education and supporting those affected by violence. The delegation also met with the State House of Assembly to further their cause.
