Governor Kefas Urges APC Candidates to Prioritize Humility Over Arrogance Following Internal Tensions

Governor Agbu Kefas has called for unity within the Taraba APC, urging successful candidates to embrace humility and reconcile with those who lost in recent primary elections.

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State recently gathered All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Jalingo for a reconciliation dinner. The governor emphasized that recent primary elections should not result in exclusion, urging those who secured party tickets to remain humble and engage with their unsuccessful counterparts.

Kefas acknowledged the friction caused by his recent transition from the Peoples Democratic Party to the APC, as well as the internal fallout from recent congresses and primaries. While expressing regret for any pain or perceived marginalization caused by these processes, he insisted his actions were intended to prevent deeper internal instability.

The governor stressed that political contests should not leave permanent rifts, noting that no candidate can achieve success in isolation. He encouraged those who lost in the primaries to stay invested in the party’s future, as opportunities remain available beyond the current cycle. Moving forward, Kefas promised to prioritize inclusive leadership and continuous dialogue across all state levels to foster a unified party identity.

Ultimately, the governor reminded members that the party’s focus should be on governance issues such as security, education, and infrastructure rather than internal feuds. He called for a fresh start defined by mutual respect and collective purpose, asserting that a united APC is essential to effectively serving the residents of Taraba State.
