Girlfriend Of Alleged Ritualist Arrested For Luring Pregnant Nurse To Her Death

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended 24-year-old Somtochukwu Nwafor in connection with the brutal murder of a pregnant nurse whose dismembered body was found in a soakaway pit in Ogbunike, Oyi LGA.

Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga revealed that the suspect confessed to being the girlfriend of the prime suspect, Chiemerie Obika Elobisi now on the run. Nwafor admitted she was summoned to clean up bloodstains after the crime and disclosed that body parts were sold to local native doctors.

Investigations show the victim, a qualified nurse, had been lured to Elobisi’s residence under the pretext of needing treatment.

Acting on Nwafor’s confession, police operatives raided a shrine belonging to native doctor Nwafor Chibunna Ofornwatadile, recovering suspected human remains wrapped in nylon. A manhunt for Elobisi and his alleged collaborators is ongoing.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, condemned the act as barbaric and immoral, urging the public to share any useful information, with assurances of confidentiality for informants.
