Gbenga Hashim supporters reject Osun State government endorsement of Tinubu

The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement has declared the recent endorsement of President Tinubu by certain Accord Party officials at the Osun Government House as invalid, asserting that Dr. Gbenga Hashim remains the party’s legitimate presidential choice.

The Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM) has denounced the recent gathering at the Osun State Government House in Osogbo, characterizing the support shown for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Governor Ademola Adeleke and certain Accord Party members as an unauthorized and meaningless political maneuver. The group asserted that the meeting lacked constitutional standing and failed to reflect the consensus of the party’s actual membership.

GHSM reiterated that Dr. Gbenga Hashim was officially selected as the party’s presidential candidate on May 30, 2026, via a national direct primary that adhered to Electoral Act regulations and INEC protocols. The movement argued that this mandate is secure and cannot be subverted by private agreements or political pressure. They further accused Governor Adeleke of engaging in anti-party activities and attempting to use state resources to manipulate the party’s future for external gains.

Regarding the ongoing legal situation, the organization pointed out that the dispute over the Accord Party’s presidential nomination is currently pending at the Federal High Court in Abuja, with a ruling expected soon. They maintained that any attempts to preempt the judicial outcome are inappropriate. The group concluded by expressing strong confidence in Dr. Hashim’s potential for victory in 2027, emphasizing that public support across the country continues to grow despite these political disputes.
