NDC Bayelsa Rejects Political Bribery, Targets 2027 Gubernatorial Win

Bayelsa NDC leadership warns Governor Diri against political bribery, emphasizing that the party remains united and focused on winning the 2027 governorship election.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Bayelsa State has issued a formal appeal to Governor Douye Diri, urging his administration to focus on transparent leadership that places public welfare above partisan motives. The party emphasized that the state government should redirect its efforts toward sustainable economic projects and long-term development rather than political maneuvering.

Hon. Dauprebo Ikuromo, the NDC State Chairman, spoke to the press in Yenagoa, warning the government against using financial incentives to divide the NDC. He maintained that the party remains resolute in its mission to secure the state’s leadership in 2027, noting that such state resources would be better spent resolving critical infrastructure failures, such as the idle gas turbines in the region.

Addressing internal party dynamics, Ikuromo confirmed that a formal dispute resolution framework is in place under the guidance of Senator Henry Seriake Dickson. He lauded Dickson for his fair handling of the national primary elections, specifically praising his commitment to increasing representation for women and youth.

Looking toward the 2027 polls, the NDC leadership has called on its members to maintain solidarity. They aim to replace the current administration, which the party claims has neglected the needs of the Nigerian populace.
