Dennis Amachree, a retired Assistant Director of the Department of State Services, has invited Major Hamza Al-Mustapha to provide video evidence to support his rejection of claims made in Amachree’s recent book. In his publication, DSS @40: My Journey Behind the Shield, the former intelligence officer asserts that General Sani Abacha died of a cardiac arrest brought on by sexual activity on June 8, 1998.
Al-Mustapha, who previously served as Chief Security Officer to Abacha, recently labeled the account inaccurate and encouraged the public to dismiss it. In response, Amachree argued during a press interview that mere denial is insufficient. He insisted that if his details are incorrect, the former major should present the CCTV footage from the Presidential Villa Guest House covering those hours.
Amachree stood by his professional history, noting that he attained the rank of Assistant Director, which he equates to a Brigadier in military terms, emphasizing his seniority over the retired Major. He maintained that his narrative is grounded in his direct involvement in the investigation surrounding the late head of state’s passing. The retired officer underscored that his claims require more than just verbal disagreement; they require verifiable proof.
