Former Chelsea Star Set to Switch Allegiance from England to Nigeria
Former Chelsea midfielder Faustino Anjorin is set to switch his international allegiance from England to Nigeria.
Born in England to a Nigerian father, the 23-year-old remains eligible to play for either nation and has previously represented England at three youth levels.
The versatile midfielder, currently playing for Serie A side Empoli, has yet to receive a call-up to England’s senior national team.
This has opened the door for him to represent Nigeria instead.
Anjorin recently held a meeting with Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle and, following a positive discussion, is now willing to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria.
With his decision to represent Nigeria, Anjorin could soon join the ranks of other foreign-born talents who have strengthened the Super Eagles in recent years.
His addition would offer the team more depth in midfield as they continue to build for future international competitions.
