Ebonyi Labour Party officials join APC in support of Governor Nwifuru

A group of Ebonyi Labour Party leaders has joined the APC, citing Governor Francis Nwifuru’s performance in office as their main reason for switching parties.

Prominent figures within the Ebonyi State Labour Party have officially transitioned to the All Progressives Congress, pledging their loyalty to Governor Francis Nwifuru. The group identified the governor’s effective governance as the primary motivator for their move.

The announcement took place on Wednesday at the APC headquarters in Abakaliki, led by State Secretary Igiri Innocent. The new arrivals were welcomed by state party leader Okoro Emegha, who characterized the migration as a significant enhancement for the APC. Emegha noted that the individuals joined out of their own volition, specifically citing the governor’s achievements in infrastructure development and regional stability.

According to Igiri, the decision was driven by the necessity to prioritize the state’s progress over rigid political allegiances. To facilitate their new mission, the group launched a movement called “FON All the Way” to mobilize grassroots support for the administration. Deputy National Leader Ijeoma Chukwu also praised the governor for fostering an environment of safety and economic stability, encouraging other stakeholders to align with efforts that prioritize the long-term prosperity of Ebonyi.
