Police operatives in Delta State have arrested three suspected kidnappers who shot their victim in the leg after collecting ₦2 million ransom from him.

The suspects — Chukwuebuka Nka (25), Uche Okechukwu, and Somto Chukwuma — reportedly attacked the victim after discovering he did not have enough money in his account.

Delta State Police Command spokesperson Bright Edafe said the operation began after a distress call reported the abduction of a young man from his residence in Ogwashi-Uku.

Officers tracked the suspects to a bush in Ogwashi-Uku, where the victim was rescued despite sustaining a gunshot wound. Investigations led to the arrest of Nka and Okechukwu in Anambra State, where the victim’s white Toyota Venza was also recovered.

Based on their confessions, police raided the gang’s hideout in Agidiase village, Ogwashi-Uku, arresting the third suspect. Officers also recovered the gang’s operational vehicle and a network jammer device used during the crime.
