The Delta State chapter of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has established a specialized Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) Monitoring and Surveillance Team. The initiative aims to enhance the security of government facilities throughout the region.
State Commandant Chinedu Igbo Fabian announced the formation of the group, noting that it serves as a robust approach to defending essential infrastructure. The unit is specifically tasked with curbing the rising instances of vandalism targeting Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) and other vital assets.
Commandant Igbo noted that safeguarding these assets is a primary duty of the Corps. He urged team members to perform their tasks with high standards of professionalism, integrity, and dedication, stressing the need for a proactive stance against sabotage. Beyond this initiative, the command has been conducting security operations in Ibusa, including clearing forested areas to remove potential hideouts for kidnappers. Personnel also conducted identity verification for those residing within these forest zones.
