Music artist David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, recently countered comments made by Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo. The governor had publicly ridiculed Davido’s uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, focusing specifically on his propensity for dancing at various events.
During a political rally, Okpebholo told his audience that Governor Adeleke prioritizes dancing over official duties. He claimed that the Osun State leader spends his time dancing before eating, boarding planes, or signing documents, asserting that this behavior proves he is out of touch with the actual needs of the state. Okpebholo also encouraged voters to accept money from his political opponents while ultimately voting against them.
In response, Davido published an image of what is purported to be Okpebholo’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination results on his Instagram story. The document displayed low grades in several subjects, including D7s in Commerce and English, and an E8 in Government. The singer did not include any text with the post. As of now, neither party has provided further commentary on the situation.
