Daniel Bwala labels Peter Obi a miracle centre presidential candidate

Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has criticized Peter Obi, questioning his selection process as a presidential candidate while dismissing his refusal to debate Minister Dave Umahi.

Daniel Bwala, who serves as the Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has criticized Peter Obi by referring to him as a miracle centre presidential candidate. This comment followed an interview where Obi stated he would only engage in a debate with Minister of Works Dave Umahi once the minister attains the status of a presidential candidate.

The exchange was sparked by Umahi’s stated willingness to debate the status of road infrastructure with Obi. During his appearance on a podcast hosted by Chude Jideonwo, Obi maintained that he would only participate in such a debate if Umahi formally secured a presidential ticket.

In response, Bwala took to social media to challenge the legitimacy of Obi’s own rise to candidacy. He pointedly questioned how Obi secured his position without participating in any primary elections. Bwala characterized it as ironic that someone who emerged through unconventional means would challenge the credentials of a politician with a background as both a governor and a serving minister.
