The Lagos chapter of the City Boy Movement has officially launched, aiming to secure massive voter support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election efforts across the South-West region. During Tuesday’s inauguration at Marcellina’s Place in Ikeja, South-West Coordinator Olamijuwonlo Alao-Akala confirmed the group’s commitment to delivering eight million votes.
Alao-Akala encouraged new members to act as dedicated ambassadors, spreading the movement’s message into every corner of the state. The event drew a wide range of attendees, including local government leaders, traditional figures, and All Progressives Congress (APC) officials.
Moyosore Ogunlewe, the movement’s Lagos Director-General and Chairman of Kosofe Local Government, highlighted that the group focuses on more than just elections. He emphasized a broader mission of youth empowerment, national development, and improving civic participation among young Nigerians. The movement plans to establish a strong grassroots presence in every ward and polling unit nationwide.
National Director-General Tosin Shoga described the organization as a vital link for the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to bridge the divide between policymakers and local communities. Meanwhile, Lagos council chairmen pledged their full support, with Ibeju-Lekki Chairman Sesan Olowa vowing to secure a comprehensive victory for the President.
Other prominent figures, including Amir Kashim Shettima (Jnr.) and Moremi Ojudu, urged members to actively promote administration achievements like infrastructure development, education, and healthcare initiatives. The event concluded with a documentary on the movement’s goals and a musical performance by the artist 9ice, with Tosin Odufuwa representing the movement’s founder, Seyi Tinubu.
